Finnpartnership introduced its Matchmaking service for Kazakh companies.

Kazakhstan has been the new key focus country of Finnpartnership since the beginning of 2011. Finnpartnership visited Kazakhstan in September and organized a seminar on “Best Practices and New Technologies in the Water Sector” in Astana. The seminar and networking event were organized together with the Finnish Water Forum, the Embassy of Finland in Astana, Cleantech Finland and Finpro. The seminar was organized in conjunction with the ”Environment for Europe” conference in Astana on 21-23 September. Minister of the Environment Ville Niinistö, together with Finnish companies, took part in the seminar, which was organized in response to Kazakhstan’s efforts to provide clean water for its citizens.

Minister Niinistö presented the welcoming words in the seminar, following the opening words by Mr. T. M. Zeinullin, General Director of Kazhydromet. Finnish companies, in the field of water supply and waste water treatment, had an opportunity to present their projects in the seminar. Also the Finnish Hydro-meteorological monitoring systems were presented.

Finnpartnership introduced the opportunities for cooperation with Finnish companies and its Matchmaking service for Kazakh companies. Finnpartnership’s Matchmaking facility assists Kazakh companies in finding business partners from Finland. Many Kazakh companies as well as the representatives of government present in the seminar were interested in the cooperation possibilities and instruments provided for the private sector.
